During the Impeachment proceedings of the House Intelligence Committee, Representative Stefanik claimed that Chairman Schiff broke House rules by not allowing her to ask questions. However, I believe that the incident occurred within a time-frame where these rules were in force: "Only the chair and ranking minority member, or a Permanent Select Committee employee if yielded to by the chair or ranking minority member, may question witnesses during such periods of questioning." Representative Stefanik is not, to my knowledge, an employee of the committee. I'm confused. Either Representative Stefanik (and Devin Nunes, the ranking minority member of the committee who tried to yield time to Rep Stefanik) is lying about what rules were in place at that time, or she is confused about what rules were in place, or I and many other people are confused about what rules were in place at the time. I look forward to resolving this confusion and am challenging Representative Stefanik and Devin Nunes to address this information as a step towards that end.
